We had heard so much about the Instant Pot and decided to try it. The real Instant Pot brand pot was very expensive and we weren’t willing to invest the money on something we weren’t sure we would like. So we bought a cheaper off brand pot and quickly discovered we loved it and needed to upgrade to a real Instant Pot.
Then shopping we learned that the choice was hard to make. There were about 15 options with various sizes and features. We wondered which features were worth the money and which ones we would never use. .
The highest models are Bluetooth enabled. I knew we would spend way too much time trying to get the Bluetooth to work properly.
We did want the Yogurt feature and some adjustability on temperature, pressure and time. Also with just the two of us 8 qts seemed too large. They offer 5 quart models and recently some smaller ones. The 6 and 8 qt pots seemed to be the most popular and had the most accessories and replacement parts available.
We ended up with the 6 quart Duo. So far I haven’t wanted any functions it doesn’t have.
When we decided we needed a smaller pot for the two of us, we went with the 3qt. There are now lots of accessories available for that size, so we have been very happy with it for our primary cooking. We still have the larger pot for stock or cooking for larger groups.
