Supper In a Pouch
The campfire should be mostly coals for this meal. Be sure to have lots of aluminum foil. Kids and teens love this meal because they get to decide exactly what they will eat and design it themselves.
Possible ingredients (the sky’s the limit here so use your imagination):
Hamburger patties
Chicken breasts
Fish fillets
Potatoes
Carrots
Onions
Fresh green beans
Potatoes (leftover from campfire potatoes)
Any other leftovers from previous meals
Salt and pepper
Garlic and a few other spices
Butter
Each camper makes a pouch out of aluminum foil and selects the items they want to place in their pouch. Encourage them to cut everything into small pieces to insure quick cooking. Then season the food and seal the pouch tightly.
Place pouches in glowing coals and allow at least 30 minutes to cook thoroughly, turning at least once.
Carefully open the pouches empty them on plates and eat.
