Peanut Blossoms
This is a traditional Christmas cookie at Memaw’s house. The most time consuming part of this recipe is unwrapping the kisses! It is a perfect kid job if you have a few extras kisses. We sometimes make them very small and put large chocolate chips on top instead of Kisses.
New for 2005 - now you can buy unwrapped Hershey’s Kisses in the baking aisle of the grocery store. They heard our complaints!!
New for 2017 – the unwrapped kisses are much harder to find. They must have gone out of style. This year we used Brach’s Dark Chocolate Stars.
A new discovery - Peanut Blossom dough works great in a cookie gun. The dough is soft, so easy to push out, but holds its shape well. If you don’t have a cookie gun - they have improved since the one I remember Nina having when I was a kid. We got a new one by Oxo this year and it works really well.
